Brief Profile

Sadiq Bolaji Nasir is a lecturer in the Department of Physics and the current Head of the Physics Department at Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, Nigeria. He holds a B.Tech. in Physics Electronics from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Science Education from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), where he graduated with distinction. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Science Education.

With extensive experience in teacher education, Mr. Nasir has taught Physics and Science Education across the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and degree programmes. His research interests span Physics Education, Science Education, Artificial Intelligence in Education, STEM Education, educational assessment, digital pedagogy, augmented reality in science education, institutional rankings, higher education quality assurance, and innovative teaching and learning strategies. He is particularly interested in advancing research excellence, strengthening institutional performance, enhancing global visibility through university rankings, fostering academic collaboration, and promoting sustainable educational development.

Mr. Nasir has served the College in several leadership and administrative capacities, including Head of the Physics Department, School of Sciences Project Coordinator, Level Adviser, member of the Welfare Committee, and member of the committee responsible for developing the Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS) for Physics Education for Kwara State University of Education. These responsibilities reflect his commitment to academic leadership, curriculum development, institutional advancement, and the continuous improvement of teacher education.

He serves as Assistant Secretary of the Nigerian Tertiary Education Ranking Advisory Committee (NiTERAC) Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) Working Group, contributing to the review and development of strategic goals for the 2026–2030 strategic plan aimed at strengthening the performance and global visibility of Nigerian higher education institutions. His involvement reflects his growing engagement with higher education strategy, institutional rankings, evidence-based planning, and international competitiveness.

His professional development includes specialised training through the Virtual Institute for Capacity Building in Higher Education (VICBHE), where he earned a Distinction Plus in Module 12, Mastering University Rankings for Global Visibility. He also completed Module 11 of the VICBHE programme. In recognition of his professional engagement with institutional rankings, he was inducted as a Charter Member of the Association of Ranking Professionals (ARP) in March 2026. He has also served as a facilitator at a capacity-building workshop on mastering institutional rankings for global visibility, organised by the School of Sciences Research and Workshop Committee of Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, in collaboration with members of the ARP.

Mr. Nasir has participated in numerous national and international conferences, workshops, and capacity-building programmes covering research methodology, scientific writing, data analysis, publication, digital education, institutional development, and telecommunications. His scholarly contributions include publications in Physics-related research and science education, including work on artificial intelligence in science education, innovative classroom pedagogy, and teacher-related factors influencing students’ academic performance in Basic Science.

He is the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigerian Institute of Physics (NIP), Kwara State Chapter, and a member of the Association of Ranking Professionals (ARP), the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN), the Integrated Science Educators Association of Nigeria (ISEAN), the Society of Digital Information and Wireless Communications (SDIWC), and the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT).

In addition to his academic qualifications, Mr. Nasir holds professional certifications in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), including Liquid Penetrant Testing (Level II), Ultrasonic Testing (Level II), Magnetic Particle Testing (Level II), and Radiographic Testing (Level II). His interdisciplinary background combines physics, electronics, science education, and technical inspection, providing a foundation for his engagement with scientific research, technology-enhanced learning, and professional development.

His professional philosophy is centred on academic excellence, impactful research, innovation, quality assurance, institutional visibility, and the continuous improvement of science education through evidence-based teaching, collaborative research, strategic leadership, and the effective integration of emerging technologies into higher education.
